Welcome to the Bowning Community Hall

The Bowning Hall was built in 1926, with additions in 1936 (kitchen and supper room) and 1944 (a separate building for returned service men, now referred to as the Annex).  The hall was originally known as the Advance Hall.

The Hall and adjacent parkland is available for hire to all individuals and organisations.  The Hall has been used for weddings, children’s parties, social events, meetings, auctions, film nights, the ANZAC day dawn service and Remembrance Day commemorations plus much more.

The Hall can seat about 130 people.  There is a stage with a cinema style projector (180″ screen), a lecturn with a connected microphone and portable microphones.  The Hall has a commercial scale aircon system.  The kitchen is modest with a display fridge, oven, microwave and preparation areas.  The adjacent supper room is carpeted and includes an air con system.  Outside the Hall is a public playground, public toilets and parkland.

Our hire rates are competitive with other Halls in the region but cheaper than major venues.  If you are interested in hiring the Hall, send an email to: bowninghall@yahoo.com.

Our Hall is owned by the community and managed by the Bowning Hall Association’s committee.  The Hall is a registered Charity but does not have a tax deductable status.

Grants and Donations

The Hall would not be able to operate without the generosity of organisations and individuals. Grants allow us to undertake specific projects to update and maintain our Hall, while donations help up with our running costs.

Donations

While grants help with specific projects, the Hall relies on donations, fundraising and the hire of facilities to manage its operational expenses like rates, electricity and insurance.
